On Nov. 22 — the day before Thanksgiving — despite the rainy weather, GLTS students showed their class spirit during an indoor pep rally. Throughout different periods of the day, students gathered in the gymnasium to hang out with peers one last time before the holiday. Some students even got to compete in the Reggie Challenge (designed after the Warrior Challenge), which features games and obstacle courses. The students who completed the challenge in the shortest amount of time earned the winning title and $50 to be placed in their class account. The winners were:
12th grade student Elias Amaro, of Lawrence, – HVAC student
Additionally, as part of the pep rally, students and teachers competed in GLTS’ annual teacher versus students basketball game. Ninth and 10th grade students hit the court against their teachers as both teams’ respective peers and colleagues cheered them on from the bleachers. In the end, the teachers took home the win. Eleventh and 12th grade students, however, dominated their game, earning the win (and bragging rights) against their teachers.
