This month, Secretary of Veterans’ Services Francisco Ureña made a special visit to GLTS to discuss creating a partnership that would foster opportunities and programs for students and servicemen and women.
Superintendent John Lavoie welcomed Secretary Ureña for the first of a series of meetings surrounding how the veterans can get more involved at GLTS. This includes programs like veteran mentoring and raising awareness about veterans through community service activities.
“This meeting was the first of many conversations we hope to have with Secretary Ureña surrounding how our students at GLTS can be more involved with the veteran community,” Superintendent Lavoie said. “We look forward to strengthening this partnership and implementing some great programs that will benefit students and our servicemen and women.”
