Superintendent John Lavoie and Principal Susan Zielinski announce that Greater Lawrence Technical School will update its COVID-19 testing policy in accordance with guidance from the state, and will partner with Greater Lawrence Family Health Center to offer a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for the school community.
Starting Jan. 31, Greater Lawrence Tech will offer a voluntary at-home antigen testing program to increase testing among students and staff. The School also will continue symptomatic testing for those who have opted into that program.
As part of this change, the School will discontinue its “Test and Stay” and contact tracing protocols for in-school close contacts.
Those interested in opting in to the at-home antigen test option are encouraged to fill in this online form by Jan. 26.

Those with questions about the antigen test program, or about these policy changes, are asked to contact Nairi Melkonian at nmelkonian@glts.net.
About the Antigen Test
iHealth is a 15-minute at-home FDA-approved rapid antigen test.
- Opt-In: Those who opt-in agree to review the training materials for test administration, report positive test results and administer the tests according to GLTS guidelines.
- Weekly: Every two weeks families will receive an iHealth at-home rapid test kit. Each kit contains two individual tests. Students will administer one test each week on Sunday night.
- Reporting Positive Test Results: If a student tests positive on an at-home antigen test, families will report the positive result by emailing covid19info@glts.net. The school will keep the results confidential and will not make individual results public. In addition, it is strongly recommended that families inform their healthcare professional of the positive result.

About the clinic
The School and Greater Lawrence Family Health Center once again will partner to offer a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for interested and eligible staff members, students and families.
The clinic will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Room 7009 at the School. The clinic is open to anyone needing a first or second dose, or those qualifying for a booster (five months after a second Pfizer or Moderna dose, or two months after a J&J dose).
The clinic will provide a Pfizer or Moderna booster to those ages 18 and older, and a Pfizer booster to anyone ages 12-17.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended a mix-and-match approach to boosters, meaning it is not necessary to receive the same brand booster as the initial regimen.
Those interested in attending are asked to schedule an appointment as soon as possible, so that the clinic may plan the number of vaccines needed.
Those interested may:
- Fill out an Appointment Request Form
- Contact Falconery Cruz at falconery.cruz@glfhc.org, or 978-686-8521
Attendees are asked to bring their vaccination card and a completed consent form (signed by parent/caregiver if under age 18). Paper copies of the consent form may be picked up in the Guidance Office or the Nurses Office.
