LAWRENCE — Greater Lawrence Technical School is pleased to invite community members to attend a remote Community Forum with the two finalists for School Principal.

- Susan Zielinski, Director of Language Acquisition and Interim Principal, Greater Lawrence Technical High School
WHAT:
The Greater Lawrence Technical School Screening Committee will hold a remote Community Forum to conduct two, one-hour conversations with finalists for the position of School Principal.
The School received 15 applications for the position, which was posted on national education job websites. An eight-member Screening Committee consisting of teachers, staff and administrators reviewed the backgrounds and resumes of the 15 applicants, and interviewed five who best met the background and qualifications for the position.
Following the interviews, the Screening Committee selected two candidates as finalists for the Community Forum:
- Tim Moriarty currently serves as a Special Advisor to the Senior Associate Commissioner for Educational Options at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Malden, where he has led strategic projects in Career/Vocational Technical Education (CVTE). He previously worked at Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School in Palmer as a mathematics teacher, department chair, and Academic Director. The discussion with Mr. Moriarty will begin at 5:30 p.m.
- Susan Zielinski has worked at Greater Lawrence Technical High School for 14 years, and currently serves as Interim Principal and Director of Language Acquisition. She also has served in a variety of roles including Reading Specialist, English Learner Instructor, Lead Teacher, Instructional Coach, New Teacher Facilitator and Instructional Leadership within the District. She previously worked at Leonard Middle School in Lawrence. The discussion with Ms. Zielinski will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Screening Committee members will ask questions of each candidate during the Community Forum. Community members are welcome to participate. Stakeholders – parents, students, faculty, staff, and faculty members — may submit questions in advance via a Google form, or submit questions during the Forum. in the question-and-answer section of the remote feed. Direct questions to the finalists will not be allowed.
The forum will be recorded, and posted on the School website and School YouTube page.
Community members are invited to share their thoughts about the finalists with Superintendent John Lavoie by emailing gltsprincipalforum@glts.net.
In the days after the forum, Superintendent Lavoie and the Screening Committee will meet to review the candidates, their backgrounds, the quality of their answers and interactions with the Greater Lawrence Tech School community, and community feedback.
Superintendent Lavoie intends to announce his selection for Principal by the end of July.
